A theme that David Bowie popularized has been visited upon Clearwater Beach, many changes evidenced from last spring to this year and all that I’ve seen thus far for the better. Fences that bar pedestrians from clogging up the roundabout have eased traffic patterns somewhat, though many drivers still seem challenged by the etiquette of merging – either too aggressive or too passive. A particularly welcome early morning sight is the new Starbucks to which the Coopers had alerted me.
I know that I make too much of a fuss about Starbucks, but digesting a book in one of Howard Schultz’s palaces each morning has become a sacrosanct ritual. The new one here that undergirds the Hilton is pleasing to the eye, and its patio affords a perch for non-readers to chit-chat and people watch.
Gotta go. Daybreak is upon us, and time to head out into some more ch-ch-changes.
