What a difference a day makes! Here was the projection of Hermine’s path early Saturday morning from the National Hurricane Center with the NJ Shore clearly in harm’s way:
That resulted in storm preparations at the Shore, to the extent that local news sources were preparing us for up to 75 MPH winds, pelting rain, coastal flooding, and beach erosion.
But daybreak revealed considerably lesser winds and virtually cloud-free skies, and this updated weather map:
And with it the ghost town that we anticipated today turned into a gorgeous Labor Day Sunday crowd on the boardwalk, with high spirits spilling into the Tiki Bar!
