The Pressure of Major League Baseball

This video was posted on YouTube the day after pitchers and catchers reported a couple of weeks ago, showing Phillies catchers engaged in pop-up drills.

One of the catchers is J.P. Arencibia, wearing #19.  There’s a great story on today showing how Arencibia is battling back from anxiety, hoping for another shot in the majors.  The Phils are giving him a close look, and he looks pretty good with a bat his hand thus far.  Once Alfaro and Knapp head out for their minor league assignments, and Chooch heads out to play for Panama in the WBC in mid-March, J.P. will no doubt see more time if he keeps his head above water.

Another J.P. but the name of Crawford is drawing alot of attention.  He got into the game in the later innings yesterday at Bright House, and started vs. the Jays in Dunedin today.  He seems to have very good instincts and skills in the field, but needs work at the plate.  Nice day to watch a ballgame in Dunedin today.  Then again, every day on the Gulf Coast is nice in its own way!
