Will Ferrell is doing his publicity tour to raise money for cancer research, playing all nine positions in a variety of games flying by helicopter between the various Cactus League Stadia. Aside from the goodwill of it all, Good Will is apparently hunting for an invitation to join the roster of a major league club that values the influence of a 47 year-old with clubhouse presence.
Forget about the news that DeMarco Murray let Chip Kelly know of his interest in playing for the Eagles. The hot rumor around Clearwater Beach is that Will Ferrell called Larry Bowa, letting him know that he’s a better option at first base than Ryan Howard. If Will has a good showing, the Phils are interested, noting that they have need at first, second, short, third, LF, CF, RF and starting pitching. If they can find one guy who can do it all effectively they would clear cap space by cutting Phillipe Aumont who wears a 7 -7/8ths.
