Phlorida Phizzle

We sure got spoiled this week, one day more beautiful than the next.  Not complaining, mind you, but today was a washout, with the skies opening up just before game time as 1:00 neared, and the temperature a relatively “cool” 66 degrees.

As the rain became steadier and heavier, fans streamed back up, crowding portions of the concourse under cover – already narrowed by vendor stands.

“Oh no”, Joe the security guard moaned.  Where are we going to put 7,000 people?  Well the good new is that even though advanced sales may have been that many, the actual number of people who showed up were far less.

Eventually the rain began to subside, but Joe showed me on his phone weather app that we hadn’t seen the worst of it yet.  His seat-wiping squeegee was working overtime.  The tarp came off, the songstress belted out the Star Spangled Banner, and the fans did live streaming back to their seats.

But alas, the game was halted in the third inning for a 50 minute rain delay, none of which we sat through.  We had plenty of company leaving the stadium, the Phils’ offense as invisible today as the sunshine.
