Arizona Sneak Preview

Saw the Reading Fightin’ Phils take on the Thunder in Trenton, and got a sneak preview of an upcoming AFL-er, as well as a glimpse of two AFL alumni.   Logan Moore is a light hitting catcher who looks outstanding defensively.  Although at age 24 it isn’t likely that he’s going to emerge by playing in the AFL, I wished him well and he was genuinely appreciative.  Or at least very polite.  AFL alumni in last night’s game were Aaron Altherr and Zach Collier, to outfielders with promise yet unfulfilled.  The Javelinas ex-manager when Cody Asche was in the AFL, Dusty Wathan, manages the Fightins and old Phillie Rob Ducey is their hitting coach.  Unfortunately the Fightin’ Phils will finish the season in last place, paralleling their parent club.  All the more reason to visualize hope for the future in Arizona …
