Turning Back the Clock for One Night

I received this postcard in the mail a couple of months ago, and it was an offer I couldn’t refuse.  The opportunity to go back and see my old coach, Neil Ellman and celebrate the growth and success of the Yeshiva University wrestling program.

I had not seen the Max Stern Athletic Center, completed well after I graduated college, and it was wonderful to see high school wrestlers there from around the country compete in the annual Wittenberg Invitational Tournament.  Coach Wittenberg was Coach Ellman’s mentor, and at this time during which Olympic heroes are celebrated, you’ll enjoy this blog backgrounder on Henry Wittenberg who I only knew as an icon via Coach Ellman.
