Sports, as we’ve heard, provide a metaphor for life. Chip Kelly, the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, provides a clinic of sorts for what is recognized as a disruptive technology when it comes to offensive football strategy. Spread the offense, put may wheels in motion simultaneously, and just keep putting points up on the board. In other words, bank on the creativity of your unique selling propositions to outpace your costs of doing business. I had many thoughts watching the Eagles stumble their way past a Romo-less Cowboys into the NFC East playoffs, and Reuben Frank nailed most of them. My principal conclusion after watching last night’s game is that sometimes disruptive technology can be so disruptive that it disrupts your own players. Yet, a “W” is a “W” and there won’t be any asterisk after this one.
