At the Desert Dogs

Travelled to Glendale today, and the four year old Camelback Ranch Stadium, pretty spring training home to the Dodgers and White Sox, and Arizona Fall League home to the Glendale Desert Dogs.  It was a gorgeous sunshiny Arizona afternoon and the Javelinas pulled out a 7-5 win but it was not easy and they are still in last place.  Lone Phillies position player Cameron Perkins had a rough day, and doubtful we’ll see him rising through the ranks.  Astros manager Bo Porter seemed to enjoy taking in the game in relative anonymity, and the sparse crowd at CRS preserved the solitude and purity of AFL game watching.  A perfect backdrop to an evening that would witness 2002 Peoria Javelinas alumnus Shane Victorino celebrating a World Series Championship with the BoSox.
