Where Does The Time Go?

A boy walks on to the field.

His emerging frame casts a long shadow and as you look at the photo his dad relays

You say to yourself  it doesn’t seem so long ago that his dad was your little boy growing.

It isn’t hard to visualize that he’ll learn much about sportsmanship;

almost inevitably he will learn at his own pace and in his own way

that it’s as much about how you absorb defeat as it is about winning.

How you play the game is what his coaches will teach him.

How you view the game is what his parents will teach him.

Can’t wait to see my big little grandson compete, another step in his evolution.
