Kol Nidre With Strings Attached

Kol Nidre.  All vows.  I’ll take one here, going on record as saying that Julia Freeman is among the most talented 14 year-old violinists there is.  She has been playing since age four, so she’s amassed quite a few Gladwellian hours and it shows.  Actually she’s among the most talented 14 year-olds you’ll meet in general.  I’ve blogged about the Freemans’ bond before, and last week we were treated to a personal rendition that Julia offered of Kol Nidre on the violin.  Julia played so beautifully that I called my father, put the phone on speaker, and let his 93 year-old ears soak it in.  It has to be a preview of heaven.

Among other talents, Julia soars on horseback.  Here she is, jumping with Luceilla.  There’s just something quite evident about coming from good stock.
