A Memorial Day Tribute

I have a soft spot for all servicemen and women, but particularly for our son, Elliot, and his support network during USMA, Iraq and beyond – including Heather, Carson, Layla, TBN, Ajax, Chris, Dennis, Grammy, — and the list goes on and on, as it should for someone who gave of himself selflessly for his country.  As the placards say, they walk in the Land of the Brave so that we can live in the Home of the Free.

I was touched this morning when opening up an email from WC, not the one who said he’d rather be anywhere than in Philly.  On the contrary this WC shared a tribute from Joseph S. Bonsall Jr. to our soldiers, featuring a certain G.I. Joe who, like our son Elliot, was born in Philly.  It was a link to this YouTube video:

Happy Memorial Day to all those who have served and who are serving, whether with us or departed.  We never take your sacrifices for granted.
