Ryan Howard: Big Man, Big Mansion

Belleair Beach

Up and over the Sand Key Bridge, connecting Clearwater Beach to Belleair Beach , you’ll find the most ridiculous mansion you’ve even seen.  I mean ridiculous like in bad;  bad like in good.  Ryan Howard, the big slugging first baseman of the Philadelphia Phillies, purchased a double lot in the town of Belleair Beach that overlooks the Gulf of Mexico.

What do you do with your money after you’ve been awarded a $125 million contract?  The word is that Howard paid $3.5 million for the on Belleair Beach (location, location, location) and is paying another $23 million for the palatial estate.  He’ll reportedly have a lazy river on the property together with a bowling alley.  I fully expect to be invited.  Here are some photos of the construction site on the future Home of Howard, which is about a three year project in the making.

I assume there will be a mikveh and a shteibel on site . 😉

  2. He tried, but Belleair Beach has an ordinance against it.

  3. Not sure, though I’ve heard rumors about pink pastrami …

Hoping that our kids can play together…he’ll be living across the street from us…

Wouldn’t it be funny if Ryan Howard ends up with buyer’s remorse? Then he would finally be on the same page as the Phillies management!
