Warming to Football

Regular season doesn’t start for our Iggles until September 9, but the pre-season is upon us and there is already intrigue over whether Micheal Vick can stay healthy.

The Birds are playing the Browns tonight, which normally wouldn’t have much significance because we rarely play the Browns during the regular season, ten times during the past 40 years to be exact.  When I hear someone say “Go Browns” I’m more inclined to think of UPS drivers in uniform than a foootball team.  Not only do we play them tonight; we open the regular season on the road in Cleveland against these same Browns.  Tonight will be an interesting test for Nick Foles, the rookie QB who starts in place of the wounded Vick and Kafka (the non-existentialist one).  Won’t be able to watch the game tonight, but I’m looking forward to seeing the Eagles set a height record by starting a 6’5″ QB flanked by two 6’8″ offensive tackles, Dunlap and Kelly.  Enjoy these cheesesteaktees, and Fly Eagles Fly!
