The Right to Bear Arms

At the Jersey Shore this phrase conjures the right to wear a sleeveless T-shirt more so than it does the second amendment of the Constitution.  But in Florida, there’s no doubt that the right to bear arms as a fundamental right is taken seriously.  If you bear arms, presumably you’re going to know how to use them.  I won’t say that shooting ranges down here rival golf ranges, but on the weekend the shooting galleries are ablaze with the sound of this kind of music: Pop! Pop! Pop-Pop!  We’re visiting with our son’s family, celebrating Carson’s graduation from Torah Tots pre-school and Layla’s second birthday.  Though it wasn’t on my bucket list, Elliot talked me into accompanying him and Dennis to the shooting range to try my hand at firing a steady pistol.  I must say, I did quite well though I’m not compelled to maintain any kind of marksmanship status.
