Passover Seder by the Sea

The ocean, actually.  Ocean Place, to be specific.  The Jersey Shore’s only beach front resort, or so they say.  I’m not so sure.  But even if other places would quibble about that claim, there’s no dispute that this is the Jersey Shore’s only Passover beach front resort.  The paradox being that after all these years we finally decided to surprise my folks by hanging with them for the “The First Days”, though health would wind up making other plans for them.

So here we are, at the Ocean of Gastronomic Delight in Long Branch, NJ, partaking of the irony that Jesus’ Last Supper was probably a Passover Seder.  Food has always been a double-edged sword for Jews.  So why is this year different from all other years?  We’re taking the plunge with MatzaFun.com.  Look what a delightful and well-deserved commentary they have about Cousin Jay:

Jay (Press) has been an on-site host for MatzaFun Passover Tours for over 16 years. He is truly a master at the art of customer service. Jay has the great advantage of meeting all his guests and knowing their special requests and needs before they arrive at Ocean Place. It’s easy since all OP guests make their reservations exclusively with Jay. Jay is also the owner of International Travel Exchange, a travel agency based in Philadelphia.

As I sit here typing this, there’s a shrill alarm followed by an announcement. “May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please.  There has been an emergency reported in the building.  Please stand by for further information.”  The recorded announcement repeats itself several times, without further information before it terminates.  What could the emergency have possibly been?  Not sure.  Hopefully it was just a late delivery of bitter herbs.  Wherever you are, have a festive Holiday season.
