Gotta Go to Rehab … Out Patient!

Unlike Amy Winehouse who said no, no, no to Rehab — Miriam has said yes, yes, yes! to Rehab and done very well this week.  It has not been easy, but her progress has been nothing short of miraculous.  (As Ethan would say, WOW!)  She transitioned from shuffling to assisted walking to steps to riding a bike to getting in and out of a car — so well, that she’s due to be released tomorrow in time to light real candles!

She’ll continue the methodical sequence in therapy, from the rapid rehab phase of the PT/OT drill sergeants, to the three times weekly pace of outpatient therapy.  Still intense, but with more of a breather in between, and phasing back in activities of real daily living.  Of course the office is never far away, owing to  One step at a time is much more than a cliche in this process.

Thanks to all of you who inquired about her, sent cards and flowers and edible arrangements and candies and most of all, good wishes.  She sends her love to all, and appreciation of being able to get back into the swing — or should I say, pivot of things.  Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season to all!
